Komet Racing Team

About me
Omar Naas is a Swiss engineer and offshore sailor driven by a deep passion for the sea and a relentless pursuit of challenge. Raised on the Mediterranean coast, he built his path from early sailing experience to over 20,000 nautical miles offshore and an RYA Yachtmaster Offshore certification. With a strong background in competitive racing and international regattas, he combines technical precision with endurance and determination. His journey now leads to the Global Solo Challenge 2027—where ambition meets the ultimate test at sea.
Motivation & Values
Challenging the oceans to push my own limits and inspire others to set sail towards their dreams.
Passion for the Sea: A lifelong connection to wind, water, and the art of seamanship.
Challenge & Growth: Every mile sailed is a lesson in resilience and adaptability.
Safety First: A disciplined, prepared, and safety-oriented approach to offshore racing.
Team Spirit Offshore: Whether sailing double-handed or solo, a strong and reliable shore team is essential for success.
Inspiration: Using my journey to show that preparation and determination can turn ambition into reality.
Louis Torreilles
Skipper - Committed to Excellence

About me
Louis Torreilles is a French professional sailor with extensive offshore experience and a proven track record in Class 40 racing. With over 45,000 nautical miles sailed, he has achieved top results at a high level, including a standout victory (class 40 sharp category) in the Transat Café L’Or 2025, alongside podium finishes in the Med Max and the Massilia Cup Offshore. His consistent performances across major races highlight both his tactical strength and endurance offshore.
Driven by a clear philosophy—adapting to the elements rather than fighting them—he combines precision, resilience, and performance in every campaign, committed to an authentic and ambitious long-term approach to offshore racing.
Motivation & Values
Born and raised by the Mediterranean, I discovered sailing at the age of 8 during a family cruise. Very quickly drawn to speed and performance, I competed in windsurfing at national level before turning to sport studies.
In 2019, I founded a sailing school and became a coach at the CREPS in Montpellier, developing rigor, knowledge transfer and autonomy. Driven by a taste for commitment and self-improvement, I completed a solo Mediterranean tour in 2022 and 2023. This experience marked a turning point: offshore racing became an obvious path.
